On this podcast episode, Nathalie Niddam and Faraz Khan discuss peptides, peptide bioregulators and how to use these wonderful compounds to heal your body, slow down and reverse aging.
Nathalie Niddam is a self-proclaimed science geek with a passion for human health. Nat is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, an Apeiron Academy Epigenetic Coach and a member of the first graduating class of Bulletproof Training Institute.
Nathalie’s unique method blends an array of human performance fields like neuroscience, personalized nutrition, nutraceuticals, biohacking, ancestral health and resilience training. She works with clients one-on-one and in small groups to tap into each person’s unique genetic code to personalize supplementation, nutrition and lifestyle in order to deliver results that last for a lifetime.
Nathalie’s Background
- Had personal health issues, went back to school to study nutrition
What Are Peptides
- Peptides are natural compounds that are fundamental building blocks of proteins
- Researched for a long time by Dr. Khavinson in Russia.
- Two types of peptides:
- BPC 157, Thymosin Alpha 1, Thymosin Beta 4: Synthetically generated amino acid chain
- Some peptides can have more amino acids (45) or can be much less (2-4 amino acids)
- Most peptides attach to receptors on the outside of cells and cause signaling inside the cells
- The bigger peptides are the SWAT teams
What Are Bioregulator Peptides
- Can get past the cell wall and get into the nucleus to the DNA
- Can get into heart tissue, pineal gland and liver
- Epithalon is an example of a peptide bioregulator
- Bioregulators can be synthetic or actual extract from an animal (like a year old calf)
- The synthetics produce a faster effect, but effects may not last as long
- Bioregulators are organ and tissue specific, because they are taken from an organ or tissue
- Specifically useful for pineal gland, blood vessel, liver, spleen, thyroid, CNS, eyes, thymus gland
- Bioregulators are not used alone, almost always in stacks
- Bioregulators are a long course strategy
BPC-157
- Great for musculoskeletal injuries
- Also anti-inflammatory
- Upregulates expression of growth hormone factors in the muscle tissue for repair
- Great for healing GI tract issues – leaky gut, IBS, IBD, Crohns
- Good for brain: traumatic brain injury
- Normalizes blood pressure
- Research is still new
Thymosin Alpha-1
- Best for immune and anti-inflammatory
- Can help with autoimmune conditions
- Trials done with COVID recently, created improved outcomes for patients
GHK-CU
- Used for skin and hair, also helps with wound healing, scarring
- Can turn on 4,000 genes
- Frequently used in skin topicals, it turns the serum blue
How To Start Using Peptides
- Start with a biological age test (using a DNA methylation pattern)
- Then start bioregulators first
- Save the tactical ones for when you need them
