Why is Digestion and Gut Health so Important 4:20
– Dr. Cabral thinks this is the most important issue to correct
– 90% of all autoimmune issues and chronic disease goes back to the guy. For eg. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hashimotos, Migraines
– Our intestines are 26 feet long but are permeable to allow individual amino acids, fatty acids, and glucose molecules
– Sometimes gaps open up more because of alcohol, birth control, advil, ibuprofen, antibiotics, fried food, stress, chlorine, fluoride, and we start leaking more proteins into the bloodstream
– This aggravates immune system as it senses foreign bodies, this is what causes the immune system to go out of control
– This could be because of candida overgrowth, SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), H Pilori which causes bloating or acid reflux, or parasites
– Must fix gut first to absorb the good foods and supplements people invest in, which get absorbed through the intestines and processed by the liver
– Functional medicine detox is mainly giving your liver more support
– Phase I liver detox: vitamins and minerals
– Phase II liver detox: Sulphur based amino acids, better in concentrated form
– Quite easy to fix gut health
How can you Fix Gut Issues 7:40
– First thing is to find an elimination diet – to eliminate the most inflammatory or immune aggravating foods: Gluten, Dairy, Egg Whites for 3-4 weeks
– Some people cannot digest vegetables, other people may not be able to digest nuts
– If you have bloating, gas, acid reflux, loose stool, then you can begin candida and bacterial gut protocol, or you can lab test – which involves urine test (candida metabolism vitamins test) and stool test which looks at parasites H Pilori and bacterial overgrowth
– One of these tests will figure out what you have, and you can use pharmaceutical ways or natural ways to clean it out
How to Create More Energy 10:40
– Two ways to look at it. One way is to boost energy, and second is to find the energy leaks in the body
– First item to check is sleep. Must have 7-9 hours of sleep.
– You should have 12 hours or more in parasympathetic nervous system, and less than 12 in sympathetic nervous system
– Stop working and relax after 12 hours
– Must have time for repair
– We use up our reserves in our 30’s and 40’s, and we start to burn through reserves, so we go through B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium faster. So may need smaller doses of supplementation
– We can improve mitochondria biogenesis
How can People Stop Hair Loss and get Better Hair 15:40
– Dr. Cabral did 25 minute show on hair loss
– We know why people lose hair
– In Ayurvedic medicine, the pitta or mesomorphic body loses their hair
– Those folks have higher Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone conversion
– Some blockers are Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, Green Tea, EGCG
– Other reasons are Low Iron, Low B vitamins especially B12
– People shift into more Telogen phase
– Women with low thyroid lose hair on head, and a third of eyebrows
– PCOS also causes hair loss in women (higher levels of Testosterone, and insulin resistance)
– Vitamin D deficiency
– Could also be Toxins such as heavy metals
– Start with vitamin C, B, Zinc, and stress, thyroid
