Josh’s Background

  • Had a lack of health, emotional and physical intelligence
  • Mom was bipolar and dad left him when he was young
  • Had blind spots early on in his life…covered those up with food
  • He believes wellness is innately gifted to us
  • At 21, lost 100 pounds
  • But his internal beliefs stayed with him, so he continually messed up and got fired from his corporate job
  • Needless to say, he didn’t have the tools to use breathwork for longer life or emotional intelligence and to explore his unique traumas

How To Get Rid Of Insecurities In Life

  • We all chose to be here, we are the one
  • Being conscious of our mental programs are really important
  • He didn’t feel worthy, valuable or enough
  • He had to go through all the incessant monkey mind doubting him all the time

Why Is The Hero’s Journey Important

  • Very important because we go through multiple phases of this in our life
  • The biggest hack for anti-aging is self awareness
  • Most people intellectualize their life (neck up)
  • We must close the gap between our head and our heart
  • The hero’s journey is a continuum…the journey is extremely important

How Do We Become Self Aware (Trauma and Conditioning)

  • Trauma gets stored in the autonomic nervous system
  • Dovetails with the endo-cannabanoid system which connects to the enteric nervous system in the gut microbiome
  • Nervous system gives you clues – you have trouble breathing.
  • You have trouble in digestive, sexuality and wealth when you think about them do you contract or expand
  • Big Trauma – sexual abuse or physical abuse and verbal abuse
  • Small trauma – neglect, being left out, left alone, abandoned
  • Use your nervous system as the guide post
  • If anything makes you feel contracted – that is how you know there is trauma

Inherited Beliefs And How They Cause Issues

  • Important to explores generational trauma
  • It’s important for parents not to project their trauma to others

How Can Someone Fix These Traumas and Conditioning?

  • First, you must use your breath to connect with your body
  • Start breathing through your nose and into your belly
  • Children are born as nose breathers, but learn mouth breathing from their parents
  • The first step is to become self aware

How Do You Become Self Aware

  • Must start with your breath
  • Do an emotional inventory by using your breath and somatic experiencing
  • This will make you better at meditation – and things will come up
  • Write 10 things that are causing you hurt and stress
  • Write 10 things you are truly grateful for
  • Then do another round of breath work from a place of courage
  • And deal with one of the items on the left side
  • Then tell one friend that you are committed to changing this one item, and they can help you through it
  • This way you can use breathwork for longer life and emotional intelligence

Different Phases of Breathwork

  • Breathing for immediate stress
  • Proactive or medidative breathwork, this is about 7-20 minutes. This is a place to start.
  • Catharsis breathing – 30-60-90 minutes with a practitioner who is skilled

What Are Plant Medicines And How Should We Think About These

  • Kratom, Kava, Marijuana, Sassafras are starting plant medicine
  • Ayahuasca, Iboga, Wachuma
  • Josh was looking for plant medicine to change him – which was an external locus of control
  • But you must do the work to heal yourself…you must be in communion with the plants
  • Must have highest integrity of ingredients and intent
  • Microdosing can be incredibly powerful
