02:50: How Rachel got into beauty

In her twenties, Rachel wanted to improve her skin.

After her first treatment, she wanted to learn more about skin health.

Her passion was always to help people to have a plan, no matter where they are in the world.

05:33: Why women complain about skin aging earlier than men?

Women do experience collagen loss and hyperpigmentation usually between late 20s – early 30s.

Then another 30% collagen loss happens at menopause.

Women face changes shape three times faster than men from the age of fifty to sixty.

11:10: Rachel, how do you consult with clients?

A couple of years ago, Rachel started doing one-hour virtual consultations to create the best anti-aging skincare routine for clients.

Men do rather prefer virtual consultations than the face to face consultations.

She was the first person who started with a virtual consultation about skin health.

16:08: What people should start doing to reduce skin aging and damage without expensive treatments at a dermatologist’s office?

Avoid exposure to toxic chemicals.

Make sure to address the four basics of an anti-aging skincare routine:

1. Clean the skin in the morning and night. The extra tip is to do a double cleanse in the evening.

2. Moisturize the skin in the morning and night.

3.Use Medical grade mineral-based sunscreen every day.

4.Exfoliate a few times a week.

19:28: What about people that want to do more than the basics?

The extras would be to use antioxidant serums. They will boost moisturize of your skin.

Check the back of your sunscreen. If there are some chemicals that Rachel mentioned in the podcast, stop using it instantly.

27:24: Do you use antioxidants in the morning or night?

Rachel recommends the use of antioxidants serums, especially for people that expose more to sunlight or blue light.

You can use it at night, but it will have the biggest benefits in the morning.

In the evening, you can use retinol.

Rachel also recommends derma rolling treatments.

If you have some unusual skin changes, talk to a dermatologist as soon as possible.

30:46: How Rachel approaches derma rolling?

There are two brands that Rachel recommends for derma rolling. They have existed since the 80s.

In the terms of needle depth, she always recommends tips from the newest studies. If you go too deep, you can mess up your skin.

Needle lengths vary based on many different factors. Most people are going too deep.

33:02: Some people do deeper derma rolling at clinics. How is it different?

In clinics,  specific topicals are applied.

To do deeper derma rolling you need to use super clean products.

38:37: Rachel, tell us your perspective on under-eye fillers?

Eye fillers add extra space between blood vessels and skin. That making dark skin less noticeable.

It looks good for a short term solution. Long term it isn’t. It is super risky. Rachel does not recommend it.

42:24: What can people do as a preventive measure against jowls?

As we age, we lose fat, bone, collagen, etc.

Over time, this volume gets lower, and we lose the triangle face shape. Overtime, the chin also becomes bigger.

To prevent it, use skincare, maybe get injectable treatment… You may need a full-on lower facelift. There are many factors, so it depends.

The first thing that you start implementing is to avoid sleeping on your stomach. She also recommends the anti-aging pillow.

47:51: Is botox safe? Why do manufacturers sell it for only three months?

In the podcast, Rachel explained her view on this treatment.
She does not recommend injections that aren’t tested on masses first at least ten years.
